Pong
Atari’s first video arcade game. Created by Nolan Bushnell and designed by Al Alcorn and Ted Dabney as the first product of their newly formed company Atari, Pong was a follow-up to Bushnell and Dabney’s earlier effort Computer Space. Pong’s success is attributed to its simple two-player tennis theme and established Atari as a pioneer in the coin-operated industry as it evolved away from pinball and electromechanical games and toward video games. There are two cabinet variations in the collection: one with a flat front kick panel, and one where the kick panel is angled. 1972 Atari Inc.
