Pong

Pong was created by Nolan Bushnell and designed by Al Alcorn and Ted Dabney as the first product of newly-formed Atari Inc.  A follow-up to to Bushnell and Dabney’s earlier effort Computer Space, Pong’s success is attributed to its simple two-player tennis theme and established Atari as a pioneer in the evolving coin-operated industry as video games replaced pinball and electromechanical games.  Two cabinet variations exist in the collection: one with a flat front kick panel, and one where the panel is angled.  1972 Atari Inc.
